League Structure

Two person teams will play a 9-hole, stroke play match each week against another assigned team. All teams will play the same preselected course and tees on Golf Zone’s TopTracer virtual monitors. Team members will face off one vs. one. Points will be recorded and tallied at the end of the round. Your goal is to earn as many points for your team as possible each week. There is no need for a tie-breaker during regular season play.

Leagues will start mid-November and run through early March. Depending on the size of the league, teams will have a chance to play a different team each week. Playoffs will follow the regular season and will consist of only the top finishing teams in points from the regular season.

One vs. one matchups will be determined by Golf Zone before you arrive. Stalls will also be assigned to accommodate lefties. A different golf course will be selected by Golf Zone (GZ) each week for the 9-hole competition. All Golfers will play from the same selected tees. Scoresheets are shared by your team and the team you are matched with each week.

Handicaps will be updated weekly following week one. An average will be taken throughout the season based on each player’s gross shots taken versus each week's par for nine holes.

Scoring and League Standings will be updated weekly and posted to the Golf Zone website. Positioning, based on gross points scored, determines who will advance to our playoff format at the end of the regular season.

Subs will be allowed and will take the handicap of the golfer they are subbing in for. Once a Sub has been present for one week of league, they can now be eligible to sub in the playoffs for any team.

Late Arrivals - If a golfer is late for the start of the round, they can join in when they arrive. Golfers must concede holes for their opponent if they are arriving late. Automatically, points will be awarded to the opposing golfer for each missed hole. No Shows/Late Arrivals automatically forfeit bonus points (Low Total Bonus, Low Net Bonus) for their team. A ZERO HANDICAP WILL BE APPLIED TO ANY PLAYER(S) THE FOLLOWING WEEK IF ANY PLAYER(S) FAIL TO FIND A SUB FOR A WEEK OF GOLF. This rule will be enforced in the playoffs.

Time

League Start Time will be at 6 p.m. each night of league. A free 30 minute warm-up period is available starting at 5:30 p.m. if Golfers would like to show up early. One rate ($18) will be due by each Golfer each week. There will also be open range time available after the league has concluded each night. If players wish to use a GZ Minute Package, each week GZ will take a flat 60 minutes off of your card.

Fees and Dues

Weekly Time Dues will be charged a flat rate of $18 plus tax for each week. This covers 2.5 hours of total stall time, 1.5 which is used for league purposes. The remaining hour is open stall time, available to be enjoyed by anyone a part of the league.

A one time League Fee will be paid to GZ before the start of week one. ($150 per team or $75 a Golfer.)

Standings and Playoffs

Standings will be updated weekly and ranked based on points earned. At the end of the final week, the top eight teams will enter into a single elimination playoff. Bracket position will be determined by finishing position in the regular season. The final four teams after round one will return the following week for a two-round Championship Playoff. Handicaps will be used in playoffs and will continue from the regular season.

Week 1: eight teams play one match to determine the final four

Week 2: Top four will return following week to play two matches for the final 1st-4th placing

A Tiebreaker will be used in the case of a tie. No handicaps will be used, All four golfers will return to hole one and play hole by hole until one low scorer is remaining.

Payouts will go to the top four finishing teams. Fourth place will earn the equivalent of the league fee, first through third will earn an amount prorated based on finishing position.

Scoring

Scoring sheets will be provided each week and will detail team matchups, courses and tees for that week. Teams will have one sheet for their matchup that will be completed together by all members of both teams. Scoring sheets will be certified by both teams before submission at the end of the round.

Point System is as follows:

1 point earned for a hole that is won outright.

½ point will be awarded to each golfer if the hole is tied.

½ point will be awarded to each golfer that scores a birdie or better on a hole regardless if they have won that hole.

3 points will be awarded to the two man team with the lowest Net Score

1 point will be awarded to the player from each head-to-head matchup with the lowest Total Score.

0 points will be awarded for losing the hole outright.

Net Score: A golfer’s score after handicap strokes have been deducted.

Total Score: The actual score recorded above/below/even to par without handicap or simply the actual amount of strokes taken by a player.
